Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Lead Protection Engineer with a Protective Relaying emphasis. The role involves design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment across multiple US locations, with remote work possible from a mutually acceptable location in the United States.

You will collaborate with our ESSP team on projects across substations, transmission lines, and generation facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in protective relaying projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Proven safety record and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment.
• Lead client projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Support data acquisition and discuss project details with clients at appropriate technical level.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, and NERC PRC standards.
• Adapt to various project schedules and priorities.
