Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience across notices, corrections, amendments, and pay & file.
• Ability to read IRS/state notices and determine resolutions.
• Experience preparing amended returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and payroll tax filing requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPP/FPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax casework from intake to closure.
• Research and resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices.
• Prepare agency responses with documentation before deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (941-X and state equivalents).
• Support payroll correction workflows and document audit trails.
• Manage own WIP queue and SLA adherence.
• Perform high-level trend analysis to identify process gaps.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates and cross-functional collaboration.
• Coach and mentor junior staff when available.
