Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a remote role, requiring CCS certification, 5 years acute care and 3 years inpatient coding experience. The candidate will code inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/PCS and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate MSDRG assignments.

The role supports BayCare’s large healthcare network and offers a full-time remote schedule with day shift, Monday–Friday, in Florida.

Qualifications

• CCS certification is required.
• RHIT is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5 years Acute Care experience.
• 3 years Inpatient Coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-day, multi-specialty inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Work with medical staff consensus for accurate diagnoses.
• Formulate physician queries and monitor bill hold reports.
• Liaise with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams for accurate MSDRG and PSI/HAC reviews.
• Mentor and train Coder I-III and students.
