Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a full-time remote role. The position requires CCS certification, with RHIT preferred, and a minimum of 5 years in acute care and 3 years inpatient coding. Must reside in Florida or other eligible states.

The role involves detailed inpatient coding using ICD-10-CM/PCS, mentoring coders, and collaborating with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams to ensure accurate MSDRG and PSI/HAC reviews.

Qualifications

• CCS certification is required.
• RHIT certification is preferred in addition to CCS.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with clinical staff for accurate coding and MS-DRG assignments.
• Mentor and train junior coders and students as needed.
• Query physicians when clarification is needed for accurate coding.
• Support CDI and Quality teams in reviews and coding accuracy.
