Qualifications

• 10+ years in estimating, with commercial HVAC focus.
• Extensive experience reading drawings, specs, and equipment schedules.
• Ability to perform material takeoffs and prepare cost estimates independently.
• Familiar with U.S. construction standards and codes.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Trimble.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed material takeoffs for commercial HVAC projects from blueprints and specs.
• Read and analyze mechanical plans, equipment schedules, and project documentation.
• Estimate quantities for ductwork, equipment, piping, insulation, and components.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for bid submissions and proposals.
• Calculate labor, material, equipment costs, and other project expenses.
• Review specs to align estimates with required scope and standards.
• Identify scope gaps, missing details, and price risks; document assumptions.
• Coordinate with owner and stakeholders on scope, pricing, and bid strategy.
• Verify estimates for accuracy before submission; follow existing workflows.
