Job summary

Gulfstream Strategic Placements, LLC seeks an experienced HVAC Estimator for a permanent, full-time role in Seattle. You will lead the HVAC estimating department, mentor junior estimators, and coordinate with general contractors, designers, engineers, and suppliers to build accurate, profitable bids.

Requirements include 9+ years of HVAC estimating on large commercial projects; a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of Estimating field experience on large commercial HVAC projects.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred, not required.
• Proficiency with estimating tools such as FastPipe/FastDuct/Trimble/Accubid/BlueBeam is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimate HVAC projects and major buyouts.
• Support and guide Junior Estimators to grow within the company.
• Review HVAC estimates prior to submission and obtain approval from Chief Estimator.
• Manage HVAC Estimating Department and mentor Jr/Mid-Level Estimators.
• Prepare accurate HVAC take-offs for material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate with general contractors, designers and engineers on identifying changes for estimates.
• Attend preconstruction, pre-bid, and client meetings to develop winning bids.
• Meet with clients to gather data needed for project costs.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors, subs, clients, engineers, and suppliers.

Job description

This is a permanent, full time position that offers a great salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

• Estimating projects and major buyout of projects.
• Support and guide Junior Estimators to help them grow within the company
• Review final HVAC estimates prior to submittal to Chief Estimator for approval.
• Manage HVAC Estimating Department, and mentor Jr/Mid-Level HVAC Estimators.
• Prepare accurate HVAC Estimate take-offs of material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Coordinate with general contractors, designers and engineers on identifying changes or modifications for estimates.
• Build effective, profitable winning bids for upcoming projects. Attend in preconstruction, pre-bid, and client meetings
• Meet with clients to develop and evaluate necessary data that needs to be gathered to complete project costs.
• Communicate and coordinate with other internal departments as well as external vendors, sub-contractors, clients, engineers, and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Plan & Spec, and Design-Build project experience.
• Familiar with State Building Codes are preferred.
• 9+ years of Estimating field experience working on large commercial HVAC projects.
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred, not required.
• Strong technical skillset working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel), FastPipe, FastDuct, Trimble, Quickpen/Accubid, BlueBeam, and/or other estimating software knowledge is a plus.
