Job summary

ENCON Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial HVAC projects. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualified candidates will have at least 5 years of estimating experience in commercial HVAC, strong knowledge of systems and construction practices, and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and related construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and technical documents.
• Experience performing material takeoffs and developing detailed project estimates.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements to accurately determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive project estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions while maintaining project quality and performance standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field personnel, and leadership throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, contracts, and project documentation.
• Stay current with industry trends, HVAC technologies, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations.
• Assist with project handoffs to operations teams following contract award.
