Job summary

August Mack Environmental is seeking a Remedial Construction Field Technician III to join our Indianapolis team. The role involves field labor in a construction environment, frequent travel to client sites across multiple states, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The candidate should have 5-7 years of construction experience; OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus but not required. Lifting 50–100 pounds and safe operation of equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of construction or field labor experience.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Willing to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Be able to fill the role of an on-site foreman, delegate tasks to junior employees, and fill leadership roles as needed on project sites.
• Read and understand job site blueprints/site plans.
• Assist Heavy Equipment Operators with field execution of projects.
• Perform field maintenance and repair of equipment, including generators, pumps, and small power tools; manage soil, concrete, and water treatment-related tasks.
• Learn to operate heavy construction equipment such as skid steers, bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders, and backhoes.
• Operate a variety of equipment like air monitoring devices, grade lasers, saws, and other tools as required.
• Assist in loading trucks and other job prep activities.
• Mobilize to project sites using company DOT trucks/trailers.
• Set up jobs, complete load lists, and perform on-site work.
• Verify utility locates are completed and marked before work.
• Maintain daily records of time, hours billed, and expenses.
• Maintain safety as a top priority and report incidents or near misses.
• Wear PPE as provided, including Level C PPE and fall protection at heights.
• Provide strong customer service and be personable and helpful to clients.
• Willing to travel (up to 100%).
