Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a seasoned Release Train Engineer for a contract role in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days on site). The position requires a strong background in agile delivery, SAFe, and leading multiple teams on one train.

You will facilitate ART events, coordinate with product management and leadership, and drive delivery under tight deadlines. Ideal candidates have 5+ years as an RTE and 8+ years in agile roles, with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in complex

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Release Train Engineer experience.
• 8+ years in agile delivery, program management, or Scrum Master roles.
• Deep SAFe knowledge and familiarity with ART events.
• Proven record leading 5–12 teams on one train.
• Proficient with Jira, Jira Align, or Rally.
• Excellent communication with engineers and executives.
• Must reside in the Charlotte, NC area.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all ART events: PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, system demos, Inspect & Adapt, and ART sync.
• Drive PI objectives and commitments across multiple agile teams, keeping delivery on track against firm deadlines.
• Identify, elevate, and resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and impediments before they become blockers.
• Build alignment across teams with competing priorities; navigate conflict and resistance with credibility and tact.
• Partner with Product Management, System Architects, Business Owners, and senior leadership on priorities and capacity.
• Help scale the train: refine operating cadence, onboard new teams, and mature agile practices.
• Coach Scrum Masters and team leads on SAFe practices and continuous improvement.
• Track and report ART health and flow metrics (predictability, velocity, throughput) to stakeholders.
• Coordinate release planning and readiness with engineering, QA, and production support.
