Electric Power Systems, a NETA-accredited testing and engineering firm, is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting on substation and industrial facilities across North America.

This senior role emphasizes technical leadership, customer interaction, and strong safety ownership. You will manage complex projects, coordinate field teams, and ensure high-quality deliverables including test results, relay settings verification,

Qualifications

• Hands on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution level substations.
• Capable of trouble shooting distribution and transmission controls circuits; knowledge of relay test software.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety leadership: lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Technical execution: analyze protection schemes and perform testing on relay circuits and panels.
• Troubleshooting: perform complex troubleshooting of protection and control systems and lead root cause analyses.
• Project leadership: develop equipment commissioning procedures, outage sequences, and manage large projects.
• Reporting: develop and finalize test results, relay settings verification, and documentation.
• Team development: train Relay Technician I/II and mentor field personnel.
