Job summary

Banc of California is seeking an experienced Commercial Lender to source, analyze, and underwrite complex loan requests, focusing on owner-occupied real estate and working capital facilities. You will prepare credit packages, guide deals through approval, and support loan closing while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 6–8 years in commercial lending, a Finance BA, strong Excel/Argus skills, and experience with Moody’s and nCino.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–8 years of experience in commercial lending, including valuation and asset management, and financial analysis is required.
• BA in finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong regulatory knowledge: TILA, ECOA, HMDA, RESPA, FCRA, BSA/AML, CIP, RFPA, CRA.
• Proficient with spreadsheets; familiarity with Moody’s analysis systems and nCino.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to work with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Source opportunities and negotiate commercial real estate loans.
• Prepare credit packages and presentations for review.
• Analyze borrower balance sheets and cash flows to assess credit risk.
• Coordinate with loan administration and legal counsel through closing.
• Mentor and lead staff; participate in hiring decisions.
