Job summary

BKF seeks a Senior Regulatory Specialist and Project Manager to support our environmental practice across California. The role combines permitting and regulatory compliance with senior project management, offering a hybrid or remote option.

You will lead budgets, coordinate with clients, and mentor teams of biologists, CEQA/NEPA practitioners, engineers and planners, applying deep knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science required.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Ability to manage teams and client communications.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance across California.
• Lead project budgets, task descriptions, and client interactions.
• Develop business opportunities and secure contracts.
• Coordinate with BKF divisions on multi-disciplinary pursuits.
• Lead or assist in project biology or wetland delineation where qualified.
• Ensure timely deliverables and manage multiple projects.
