Job summary

BKF is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist and Project Manager to support our growing environmental practice in California. The role combines permitting and regulatory compliance with senior project management, flexible to remote, hybrid with California offices, and client-facing responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in leadership roles, strong knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations, and be able to manage teams and client communications effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing cultural resource professionals.
• Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations and laws.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental permitting and identify permitting pathways for clients.
• Participate in business development and secure contracts.
• Support other BKF divisions on multi-disciplinary pursuits.
• Ensure timely deliverables and budget management across projects.
• Possible duties as project biologist or wetland delineation expert (optional).
