BKF Engineers is hiring a Senior Regulatory Specialist and Project Manager to support our environmental consulting practice across California. The role combines permitting and regulatory compliance with senior project management, with an option for remote work or hybrid schedule between a California office and home.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years leading cultural resources teams, deep knowledge of federal and state environmental laws, and strong client communication skills to manage budgets

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing cultural resource professionals.
• Valid California Class C driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support permitting pathways analysis and client consultations.
• Lead project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
• Collaborate with biologists, engineers, and planners on multi-disciplinary pursuits.
• Develop business opportunities and secure contracts.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee cultural resource professionals.
• Travel to BKF locations and client sites as required.
