Happen Bank is seeking a senior legal professional to provide strategic and tactical legal support across all consumer finance activities. The role partners with business teams to develop compliant products and services, and to train on applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed, in good standing, in one or more states to practice law.
• At least 10 years of combined law firm, government and/or in-house legal department experience, and at least 8 years in consumer finance.
• Experience advising on TILA/Regulation Z; ECOA/Regulation B; FCRA/Regulation V; BSA/AML; EFTA/Regulation E; TCPA, TSR, CAN-SPAM; FDCPA; UDAAP; GLBA/Regulation P.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing business environment and to implement legal advice hands-on.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop collaborative relationships across departments.

Responsabilités

• Deliver strategic and tactical legal support for activities in the consumer finance industry across all stages of members' experiences.
• Advise and partner with business teams on product development, training, and compliance with consumer finance laws.
• Monitor federal, state and local regulatory developments and advise on operational readiness.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Risk to support investigations and external examinations.
• Identify process improvements to ensure consistent interpretation of legal requirements across the marketplace.
• Oversee other legal team members as needed and support strategic objectives.
