Qualifications

• Experience advising on federal and state consumer lending laws.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with third parties.
• Identify potential legal exposure and strengthen the compliance framework.
• Monitor evolving laws and regulations and advise on risk management.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a strategic legal advisor to business teams on a broad range of financial services, regulatory, and operational matters.


• Provide guidance on consumer and commercial finance laws, lending practices, credit operations, and related compliance requirements.


• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify potential legal exposure.


• Help strengthen the company's regulatory compliance framework, including reviewing internal processes, policies, and controls.


• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business contracts and agreements with third parties.


• Advise on legal issues involving customer relationships, financial products, data protection, and business operations.


• Monitor evolving laws and regulations and provide recommendations to ensure ongoing compliance.


• Work cross-functionally with business leaders to support organizational goals while managing legal and regulatory risks.

Must-Have-Skills:

• JD degree and active CA bar membership.


• 5–10 years of legal experience.


• Strong background in consumer finance regulatory compliance, particularly within banking, lending, or financial services.


• Experience advising on federal and state consumer lending laws and regulations.


• Background working with a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
