Job summary

EdgeConneX is seeking a Sr. Manager, Energy Development to serve as the energy authority for their assigned U.S. sub-market. You will own the regional energy strategy and lead a bench of consultants and contractors to deliver on-site power, interconnections, and grid relations.

The role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, including contract development, regulatory engagement, and coordination with site teams to accelerate data center capacity while managing risk and cost.

Qualifications

• 7-12 years of professional experience in the energy sector.
• Proven track record leading energy contract development and negotiations.
• Experience directing external consultants, engineers, and legal resources.
• Experience in a hyperscale, colocation, or large-scale data center development environment preferred.
• Strong relationships with grid managers, utility staff, and regulatory personnel in target regions.
• Experience spanning both utility-side and large-load customer-side energy work is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Own and cultivate regional energy strategy, including utility and regulator engagement and regional energy decisions.
• Lead development and negotiation of energy-related contracts (utility agreements, interconnection, PPA, rate schedules).
• Direct outside resources through contract processes, ensuring ECX position and outcomes.
• Develop relationships to gain early access to capacity information and favorable queue positioning.
• Drive power capacity delivery from site evaluation to energization, coordinating interconnection, substation, and utility milestones.
• Manage capital budgeting for electrical infrastructure and energy projects in region; identify cost-saving opportunities.
