Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in the United States seeks a Senior Employment Specialist to help newly arrived refugees attain self-sufficiency through employment preparation, job placement, and career advancement services. You will train and mentor colleagues while handling a complex caseload.

You will collaborate with area employers, track client progress, and support program quality assurance while ensuring DHS compliance and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of employment services experience for refugees; 3+ preferred.
• Experience onboarding and training staff a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, assessment and provide program orientation to clients eligible for employment services.
• Develop employment plans and budget strategies for each employable adult.
• Provide job readiness coaching and connect clients with job opportunities.
• Develop relationships with area employers and staffing agencies for opportunities.
• Input client data and track progress in databases for reporting.
• Train and mentor colleagues and support quality assurance activities.
