Job summary

International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Senior Employment Specialist to assist newly arrived refugees and other qualified immigrants in attaining self-sufficiency through employment. You will guide employment preparation, coordinate job placements, mentor colleagues, and support program quality assurance efforts.

Responsibilities include intake, job readiness coaching, employer outreach, and tracking client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience providing job readiness and placement services to refugee populations; 3 years preferred.
• Experience in onboarding and training staff and supporting quality assurance a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, assessment and provide program orientation; develop comprehensive employment plans and budget strategies.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with area employers and staffing agencies to identify job opportunities.
• Monitor client job performance, wage levels and related metrics; input data into databases.
