Job summary

The City of Marina is seeking a Recreation Supervisor to develop and implement diverse recreation activities for all ages, supervise instructors, and manage program budgets. The role requires coordinating facilities, scheduling events, and engaging with the community to deliver high-quality services.

You will oversee part-time and contract staff, ensure policy compliance, and contribute to special events while building collaborative relationships with staff and the public.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field.
  • Two years of experience in recreation or facility management; supervisory experience required.
  • Valid California driver’s license with Class B certification; CPR, Food Safety, ARC First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, promote, develop, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive recreation program for all ages and abilities.
  • Manage on-site facilities: scheduling, use, and maintenance.
  • Hire, train, supervise, schedule and evaluate part-time and contractual staff.
  • Prepare and monitor department budgets and records; write reports and correspondence.
  • Engage with staff, user groups and the public to ensure cooperative relationships.
