Job summary

The City of Carlsbad is hiring a Senior Recreation Leader to provide reception and general administrative support for its Parks & Recreation programs. This role handles front desk duties, data entry, report preparation, and coordination of aquatic and recreation activities, while ensuring safety and quality service to park guests.

Under supervision, you will manage facility setups and tear-downs, supervise program activities, and assist with special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework desirable.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to learn and use recreation software (CivicRec).
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide reception and front desk operations for parks & recreation programs.
• Assist in data entry, reports and instructor files.
• Ensure health and safety of park guests and program participants.
• Direct and supervise participants of programs and activities.
• Perform facility set-ups/tear-downs and basic custodial tasks.
• Support special events and staff as needed.
