Job summary

Block, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Recon and Reporting team to own end-to-end reconciliation and reporting across card networks, banks, and processors.

You will translate needs into concrete metrics, develop automated SQL-based reporting, and drive improvements with engineering partnerships. You will partner with Finance, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance to ensure accurate financial data and timely disclosures, while proactively identifying risks and driving automation and process

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in reconciliation, settlement, or finance analytics with a relevant degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s.
• Expert-level SQL with automated reporting
• Experience owning end-to-end reconciliation or reporting workstreams
• Strong accounting knowledge and money-movement concepts
• Experience partnering with data engineering to build data pipelines
• Advanced Excel and reconciliation tooling experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive in process improvements and automation

Responsibilities

• Independently own reconciliation and reporting workstreams end to end.
• Own daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across networks and partners.
• Translate business needs into metrics and reporting standards.
• Be SME on settlement, funding, and money flows.
• Design and document automated SQL-based reporting.
• Collaborate with data teams to maintain datasets and pipelines.
• Identify control gaps and drive automation to close gaps.
• Manage senior stakeholder relationships across Engineering, Product, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance.
• Support month-end close and audit readiness.
• Define requirements and test plans for system changes; validate processes before deployment.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices.
• Apply AI-first mindset to improve speed and quality of analysis.
