Job summary

Mercury is building a complete finance stack for startups, seeking a Senior Financial Data Reconciliation Analyst to scale reconciliation across banking partners and internal systems. You will own end-to-end reconciliations, develop data transformations, and lead root-cause analysis for complex breaks.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Banking partners to ensure accurate funds movement tracking.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in fintech or financial services, focused on reconciliation, settlement, payment operations, and accounting.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience building data transformations.
• Familiarity with banking payment rails and card networks (ACH, wire, RTP, FedNow, Visa, Mastercard).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reconciliations for new and existing products and funds flows, setting standards for others.
• Develop and maintain data transformations and matching rules for scalable reconciliation.
• Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions; perform root-cause analysis with cross-functional partners.
• Build monitoring, alerts, and reports to surface reconciliation risks and opportunities.
• Define reconciliation requirements and technical specs early in product design.
• Support month-end close and audit readiness with timely analyses and documentation.
• Shape the reconciliation control roadmap as product coverage grows.
• Mentor analysts through hands-on coaching to strengthen technical skills.
