Block, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for Reconciliation & Reporting in Remote Bay Area, CA.

You will join the Recon and Reporting team responsible for post-transaction systems, ingesting settlement data and producing accurate, auditable financial reports for regulatory purposes. You will own end-to-end projects, build pipelines, and contribute to tax and regulatory reporting with a focus on accuracy, automation, and real-time processing.

Competenze

• 3+ years of professional software or data engineering experience.
• A technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience building or maintaining batch- or event-driven data pipelines, with workflow orchestration tools and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java or Python and solid SQL.
• End-to-end project delivery with guidance from senior engineers.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with AI tooling in the development lifecycle.

Mansioni

• Own small, well-bounded projects end-to-end with guidance available.
• Build and maintain ingestion and reconciliation pipelines.
• Contribute to tooling for end-to-end traceability of money flows.
• Develop reporting and reconciliation features for accuracy and scalability.
• Produce journals and summaries for downstream accounting and audits.
• Contribute to tax and regulatory reporting systems (IRS, CESOP, international regimes).
• Support AML, KYC, and sensitive data handling with secure processes.
• Validate work via reviews, tests, experiments, and signals.
• Troubleshoot production issues with clear context and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data analysts, and finance partners.
• Review peers’ work and document learnings, including AI workflows.
