Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer in WebRTC and cloud live streaming to own the real-time media and data stack powering Skydio Remote Flight Deck, ReadyLink, and our Commands. You will optimize the cloud-to-browser pipeline and work across Go/C++ cloud nodes and TypeScript browser clients, implementing WebCodecs pipelines for low-latency streaming.

You will design and tune WebRTC media paths, manage diagnostics and telemetry, and harden LiveKit SFU

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with WebRTC and real-time video streaming.
• Deep experience with WebRTC internals: PeerConnection, RTP/RTCP, SDP, ICE/STUN/TURN.
• Production experience with LiveKit or similar SFUs and Go/C++ (cloud) + TypeScript (browser).

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize the cloud-to-browser streaming pipeline end-to-end.
• Bypass default WebRTC decode with WebCodecs and custom pipelines.
• Architect and tune WebRTC media and data paths (RTP/RTCP, TWCC/GCC, NACK/RTX, PLI).
• Operate and harden LiveKit SFU deployments across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Build end-to-end streaming observability and QoE telemetry.
