Job summary
HEPCO Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead real-time embedded software development for munitions programs and supervise software projects.
The role blends hands-on development (about 60%) with technical leadership (about 40%), guiding lifecycle activities from requirements through verification and integration. You will coordinate cybersecurity efforts within the software domain, manage EVMS reporting, and ensure compliance with software safety and quality audits while collaborating with
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- At least four years of real-time embedded software development and/or software testing, or two years with a master’s degree.
- Strong proficiency in object‑oriented design and C++ embedded software development.
- Experience providing technical direction to a team of developers.
- Familiarity with Ethernet communications, CMMI, and software lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of EVMS and CAM/Work Package responsibilities.
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the software engineering lifecycle from estimation to range testing.
- Coordinate cybersecurity activities within the software domain.
- Manage Control Accounts/Work Packages and EVMS reporting.
- Plan software schedules and align with milestones.
- Mentor and provide feedback to project personnel.
- Support software quality assurance audits.
- Present metrics and communicate risks to leadership.
