• Familiarity with Ethernet communications, CMMI, and software lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of EVMS and CAM/Work Package responsibilities.
• Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our client to lead software development efforts supporting munitions programs. This role combines hands‑on real‑time embedded software development with technical project leadership, with approximately 60% focused on software design and development and 40% on leading software projects. Lead the software engineering lifecycle, including estimating, planning, requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, hardware/software integration, and range testing. Evaluate software requirements against customer needs, performance goals, and contractual Statements of Work. Collaborate with software architects and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance, quality, and cost. Coordinate cybersecurity activities within the software domain. Monitor technical performance, costs, and schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage Control Accounts or Work Packages and provide Estimates at Completion (EAC) to support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting. Plan software schedules and builds to align with product development milestones. Coordinate internal resources and external subcontracted software development. Provide constructive performance and development feedback for project personnel. Ensure compliance with established business management procedures and software safety requirements. Support software verification planning, test environments, and test execution. Support Software Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management audits. Lead formal requirements, preliminary design, critical design, and test readiness reviews with government representatives. Present project metrics and technical status and communicate risks, issues, and opportunities to leadership. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. Strong proficiency in object‑oriented design and C++ embedded software development. Experience providing technical direction to a team of developers. Practical knowledge of software engineering processes and current design and development practices. Familiarity with Ethernet communications, CMMI, and software lifecycle management. Working knowledge of EVMS and Control Account Manager/Work Package Manager responsibilities. Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.
