Blue Origin Engines is seeking an Aerospace Software Apps Engineer III to help develop and verify real-time embedded software for rocket engines. You will work within a small, focused team to design, implement, and test safety-critical software that monitors and controls autonomous rocket engines.

The role requires a B.S. or higher in a related field and hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, RTOS, Linux, and device drivers, plus strong debugging and the ability to communicate complex concepts

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or related field.
• Experience writing software requirements.
• Experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with Device Drivers.
• Experience with the SDLC.
• Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary.
• Experience with serial communications and networking protocols (TCP/IP).
• Familiarity interfacing with sensors and actuators.
• Experience designing robust APIs and interfaces.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Build and test real-time embedded software that controls rocket engines for human spacecraft.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the software development lifecycle.
• Develop verifiable requirements and architectures, write planning specifications, and support integration and testing.
