Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks a Senior Associate to join the Real Estate Finance as a Service (FaaS) team in Boston. You will perform month-end close, financial reporting, and budgeting for private middle-market clients with real estate assets.

The role involves client contact with executives and tax professionals, and learning our cloud-based technology stack. You will work in a team-based environment, supporting multiple clients and deadlines while leveraging Yardi/MRI and other tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience in property-level accounting and finance functions.
• Experience with Real Estate technology systems (Yardi, MRI) required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Public accounting/consulting experience preferred but not required.
• Pursuing CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience with automated accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, Blackline, FloQast, Basis).

Responsibilities

• Key point of contact for Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Month End Close cycles.
• Lead, manage and coach client services representatives and associates.
• Review monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll, and inventory.
• Approve bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare/Review monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
• Analyze financial information and provide actionable insights.
• Suggest process improvements and repeatable methodologies.
• Identify add-on processes and integrations to drive month-end close efficiencies.
