Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee multiple LIRR force account and capital projects within Railroad Program Support. You will coordinate design consultants and construction contractors to ensure scopes, schedules, and budgets are met.

The role requires at least 7 years of experience in transportation or state agencies, strong leadership, budgeting, and communication skills. Telework is available one day per week.

Qualificações

• Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in transportation or state agencies.
• Experience managing LIRR Force Account Capital Projects, including planning, design and construction, funding approvals, procurement strategies and support to C&D LIRR Business Unit.
• Maintain data accuracy and lead system and contract audits when necessary.
• Support senior leadership with strategic department planning and onboarding new project team members.
• Experience managing project systems and complex project closeouts processes.
• Progressively responsible project management experience, preferably in transportation, or state agency environment.
• Must possess experience managing staff and budgets in engineering, construction, or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively intra- and inter-departmentally.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, planning, construction management, problem solving and sound judgment.
• Scheduling, planning, analytical, presentation and computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direction and manage planning, development, design, and construction of projects and program initiatives within the RPS managed Capital Program.
• Direct the Project Manager in developing schedules, plans, controls, and execution of projects with budgets and schedules.
• Maintain relationships with other departments and agencies to obtain approvals and present monthly status updates.
• Provide recommendations and approvals or denials of related claims, work, change orders or extension of time requests.
• Select, develop and motivate personnel; provide coaching and performance reviews; promote safe work practices.
• Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to company safety policies.
• Manage development of office and project related technologies and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.
• May work hours outside regular times; observe contractor work when applicable.
• Review invoices for contractual compliance and address performance issues with contractors.
• Escalate issues to other parties when needed.

BA/BS in Engineering or Construction Management
