Job summary

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a senior program manager to lead and oversee multiple LIRR Force Account and Capital projects within Railroad Program Support (RPS). You will coordinate with design consultants and contractors to meet scope, schedule, and budget targets, and provide support to the C&D LIRR Business Unit.

Prepare reports and manage staff across departments to ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management; business degree considered with relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing capital projects and related funding, procurement, and contracts.
• Experience in planning, design, construction, and closeouts of complex projects.
• Ability to interact with multiple departments and in public forums; strong leadership and judgment.
• Knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, change orders, and invoices handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and manage planning, development, design, and construction of RPS Capital Program projects.
• Guide schedule development, controls, and execution within budgets with minimal service disruptions.
• Maintain relationships with departments for approvals and provide monthly status updates.
• Participate in change orders, claims, and extension of time decisions.
• develop and coach staff; enforce safety and professional conduct.
• Review invoices and ensure contractual standards compliance; oversee project closeouts.
• May supervise contractors and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
