Job summary

Nuro seeks a Senior Radar System Engineer to guide technical strategy, evaluation, and supplier development for radar sensing capabilities. You will set direction, raise the bar on evaluation, and mentor engineers working alongside you.

This hands-on role covers antennas, MMICs, DSP, and the supply chain, shaping how Nuro defines excellence in radar and partnering with suppliers to build capabilities for our autonomous driving system.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional engineering experience in Radar or sensing systems.
• Deep expertise in link budget, antenna technologies, and signal processing (FFT, CFAR).
• Experience evaluating and selecting sensor hardware with data-driven benchmarking.
• Experience leading supplier engagements and driving technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for Radar evaluation and selection strategy.
• Define Radar performance requirements and evaluation criteria.
• Build and standardize bench and in-context evaluation methodologies for Radar sensors.
• Drive supplier engagements with Tier 1 and Tier 2, influencing roadmaps.
• Lead technical due diligence on Radar vendors and technologies; mentor the Radar team.
• Partner with Perception, Software, and Mechanical teams to integrate Radar selections into the architecture.
• Build and maintain partnerships across the Radar supply base and industry bodies.
• Communicate roadmaps, trade-offs, and recommendations to engineering and executives.
