Job summary

Ultra Maritime seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead radar system development from initial concept through integration and test. You will collaborate with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers to guide the radar system design and perform system-level trade studies.

The role emphasizes rigorous systems engineering, integration planning, and cross-disciplinary leadership to support Navy-focused projects and future proposals.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
• Knowledge of proper systems engineering discipline and rigor required for disciplined systems development.
• Significant experience with Radar systems or similar signal processing systems.
• Experience and knowledge of algorithms used for navigation, periscope detection, discrimination or other parts of traditional Radar signal processing.
• Laboratory knowledge including setup and use of Linux-based system integration, test, and execution.
• Experience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for hardware and software.
• Review/provide technical inputs and cost estimation support.
• Ability to document and specify system and subsystem level requirements.
• Experience working with a team to jointly develop a system during all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Provide systems engineering leadership to a small group of systems or mixed discipline engineers.
• Willingness to travel (10%).

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions within time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Lead portions of the technical proposal effort and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Guide system design from initial concept to integration and test.
• Perform system-level trade-space assessments and support decision making.
• Contribute to strategic approaches for proposals and R&D activities.
