Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Radar System Engineer to shape the future of automotive radar technology. You will collaborate with global teams to develop next‑gen radar systems, from requirements through validation, including testing in anechoic chambers and real vehicles.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in a technical field with proven radar experience, strong modeling, and proficiency with radar simulation tools. This role offers a path to lead innovative sensor development at Aptiv.

Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in a technical field with relevant radar experience.
Strong background in radar system development, including algorithm design and sensor modeling.
Experience with radar simulation tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

Drive development of next-gen radar systems from inception to realization, including requirements analysis, algorithm development, and system concept architectures.
Take ownership of specific algorithms and key aspects of radar design, ensuring robust performance and functionality.
Lead early-stage sensor development utilizing radar modeling and simulation techniques.
Collaborate across a global team, providing insights and guidance in radar development efforts.
Lead technology and radar concept development initiatives, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Troubleshoot complex radar issues and provide guidance to colleagues to reach effective solutions.
Contribute to the full spectrum of radar sensor development activities, from concept to validation.
Conduct anechoic chamber testing to verify radar concepts and validate algorithm performance.
Participate in vehicle‑level testing, both on closed courses and public roads, to validate radar sensor performance in real‑world environments.
