Job summary

HRL Laboratories, an IBM company, seeks a highly experienced leader to drive the next generation of radar technologies from R&D to prototypes and products. You will guide cross-disciplinary teams across radar hardware, software, and systems integration in a fast-paced environment.

This senior role requires 10+ years in radar system development, deep expertise in system architecture and DoD standards, and the ability to mentor large engineering teams while delivering technically rigorous

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years in R&D and leadership on phased array radar systems.
• Experience with system analysis, architecture, requirements, modeling, integration and testing.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD and DoD acquisition processes.
• Strong communication and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development life cycle, from conceptualization to deployment.
• Oversee the system architectural design and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Provide strong technical leadership to radar hardware, software, system integration, and tests.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the product lifecycle.
• Conduct technical reviews and guide complex engineering challenges.
• Drive R&D initiatives, exploring emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Lead invention disclosures, publications, briefing customers, and proposal/marketing activities.
