Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Radar Optimization Engineer to support the NAS Integration Support Contract (NISC) for the BNATCS initiative. You will optimize radar performance, calibrate systems, and troubleshoot complex radar configurations at busy airports across the NAS.

The role requires field testing, SME collaboration, and coordination with FAA personnel. Ideal candidates have formal radar training, NAS experience, and the ability to work independently within a small team to meet aggressive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with substantial related experience or equivalent training.
• Formal radar training or FAA/ military radar program experience preferred.
• Experience with radar systems in NAS or similar environments.
• Knowledge of RF propagation, antenna alignment, and waveguides.
• Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Represent the PO at RSR sites and execute multi‑site schedules.
• Serve as SME to program office’s leads on project and engineering tasks.
• Support radar configuration, testing, calibration, and optimization.
• Configure tracking parameters, software, and network interfaces.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting to isolate interference and faults.
• Coordinate with FAA personnel, vendors, and engineers to resolve issues.
• Document test results, configurations, and corrective actions.
