Job summary

Leidos is seeking a qualified Radar Optimization Engineer to support the NAS Integration Support Contract (NISC) for the BNATCS Radar Surveillance Replacement program. The role involves configuring, testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing radar systems at major airports, and coordinating with FAA and vendors to resolve performance issues.

Expect high travel, hands-on field work, and close collaboration with program office leads to ensure radar performance meets stringent detection

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Experience with radar systems in NAS or operational environment.
Completion of formal radar training at FAA Academy or equivalent.
Ability to obtain FAA Public Trust clearance.
Experience with field maintenance and optimization of radar systems.

Responsibilities

Represent the Program Office at RSR sites on a multi-site schedule.
Serve as SME to the program office's project, optimization, and engineering leads.
Configure radar tracking parameters, interfaces, and integration middleware as required.
Perform advanced field troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of RF issues.
Coordinate with FAA personnel, system engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve performance issues.
Document test results, configurations, deficiencies, and optimization settings.
