Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced RSR Radar Optimization Engineer to support the BNATCS initiative within the RSR Program Office (AJM-41). The role involves radar configuration, testing, calibration, and optimization at major airports, with significant travel and FAA compliance responsibilities.

The candidate will apply RF knowledge, system integration, and diagnostic software to achieve detection, tracking, and reliability targets while coordinating with FAA engineers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
• Formal radar training or certifications related to FAA radar systems
• Experience with NAS/radar systems in operational environments
• Knowledge of RF, microwave transceivers, and antenna alignment

Responsibilities

• Represent the PO at multiple RSR sites on a demanding schedule
• Serve as SME to program office and engineering leads
• Support radar configuration, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and optimization
• Configure radar tracking parameters, network interfaces, and integration middleware
• Perform field troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on RF/system issues
• Coordinate with FAA personnel, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve performance issues
• Ensure field activities comply with FAA requirements and safety procedures
