Job summary

Leidos is seeking a qualified Radar Optimization Engineer to support the NAS BNATCS RSR program at major U.S. airports.

You will lead radar configuration, testing, calibration, and optimization, acting as SME to the program office and coordinating with FAA personnel and vendors. The role requires extensive field experience, FAA training/certification, and the ability to travel 50–75% of the time while maintaining high-quality radar performance and reliable data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Formally trained in radar systems and related FAA or military programs.
• Hands-on field experience with NAS radar environments.
• Proficiency with RF, signal processing, and radar testing.

Responsibilities

• Represent the program office at RSR sites and meet multi-site schedules.
• Serve as SME to engineering leads on radar optimization.
• Configure radar tracking params, interfaces, and middleware.
• Troubleshoot RF/interference, perform calibration and tuning.
• Document results and coordinate with FAA personnel and vendors.
