Job summary

Raytheon in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Radar Mechanical Design Department to develop designs for radar systems. You will design motion control actuation systems, perform analyses, and support full product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing.

The role requires strong background in mechanical design for aerospace/military applications, proficiency with Creo and ANSYS, and the ability to lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical design for aerospace or military or commercial applications.
• Experience with actuation drive systems, bearings, geartrains, and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical solutions for mechanism and machine design challenges in radar systems.
• Design motion control actuation systems including actuators, geartrains, bearings.
• Perform kinematic and dynamic analyses; conduct basic structural and thermal analyses.
• Support full lifecycle: requirements, concepts, trade studies, GD&T, manufacturing docs.
• Create 3D models and drawings; support prototype builds, testing and verification.
• Lead mechanical development efforts and collaborate across engineering teams.
