Job summary

Fivetran, Inc. is hiring a Senior R&D Software Engineer for the Fivetran AI team in Denver. You will prototype AI retrieval techniques, ship production-grade features, and own backend and frontend systems from Agents Schema pipelines to the Context Catalog UI.

Strong coding skills and market awareness are essential. You will read AI/ML research, build robust software, and participate in SRE and QA tasks to keep the platform reliable at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java.
• Experience shipping production software across backend and frontend.
• Familiarity with AI tooling and data processing pipelines.
• Comfortable reading AI/ML research and turning findings into prototypes.
• Strong product and market awareness in AI software.

Responsibilities

• Research emerging retrieval and AI techniques and assess relevance to roadmap.
• Prototype ideas and ship production-grade features.
• Build and maintain backend and frontend systems for Fivetran AI.
• Contribute to AISQL capability: NL to SQL grounded in dbt metrics.
• Take ownership of production reliability and on-call rotations.
• Write tests and perform hands-on QA to catch issues early.
• Use coding agents to automate repetitive tasks.
• Collaborate with product/design to shape next features.
• Develop software designs and contribute to technical roadmap.
