Job summary
Prometheus Energetics seeks an R&D Manager – Solid Propulsion to lead a multi-disciplinary team in propellant development, materials formulation, and propulsion subsystem design in Bloomington, IN. You will guide laboratory-scale testing, pilot-scale transitions, and ensure program milestones align with ballistic targets and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years in solid rocket motor development or energetic materials, with strong technical leadership and rocket motor testing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field required.
- Master's or Ph.D. preferred with concentration in energetic materials, polymer science, or propulsion.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of chemists, materials engineers, and test specialists.
- Define and execute the R&D roadmap for solid propulsion subsystems.
- Oversee transition from lab to pilot-scale and full-rate production.
- Direct static fire test campaigns, data reduction, and root-cause investigations.
- Interface with program management, QA, and customers on baselines and milestones.
