Job summary

Prometheus Energetics is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing & Process Engineer to lead manufacturing processes for Bloomington operations as they scale into high-rate production of solid rocket motors and warheads.

You will own process design, SWIs, tooling integration, and production line layouts, coordinating with Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, and technology-transfer teams to meet safety, quality, and customer performance requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or related technical discipline specified.
Minimum 6+ years of progressive manufacturing, process, or tooling engineering in aerospace/defense hardware.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo/NX/SolidWorks) and PDM/PLM systems (Windchill).
Solid understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5, material strength, and precision metal fabrication methods.
Experience generating assembly routers, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and detailed work instructions.

Responsibilities

Establish, prove out, and sustain manufacturing processes, routers, tooling sheets, and SWIs for SRM cast/cure, handling, assembly, and packaging.
Analyze flows, ergonomics, and line balance to optimize throughput and scaling.
Serve as primary manufacturing engineering contact for shop-floor operators, providing real-time guidance.
