Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems seeks a Propulsion R&D Engineer (SME) to lead advanced SRM propulsion research, design, development, and testing. The SME provides technical leadership across SRM programs and interfaces with IPTs and customers.

Remote work is available, with facilities in Huntsville, AL; Niceville, FL; or Hampton, AR. This role emphasizes feasibility studies, applied research, and transitioning technologies from development to production, guiding sound engineering

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 12–15 years in engineering.
• Engineering discipline required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development for SRM propulsion technologies.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design, and product teams to optimize designs for producibility.
• Utilize CAD/CAE to model designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Summarize research results and communicate findings to internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop technical documentation for projects and participate in IP-related activities.
