Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Propulsion R&D Engineer (SME) to lead advanced SRM technologies. The role drives feasibility, design, development, and testing, serving as the technical interface for IPTs and customers.

This position can be remote or at Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR facilities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in propulsion R&D, strong leadership, and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 12-15 years' experience.
• Proficient in engineering practices and documentation.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research, design, and development activities to create improved products, processes, or services.
• Collaborates with manufacturing partners and designers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Uses CAD/CAE tools to model designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Performs market research, tracks projects, and prepares business-focused analyses and presentations.
• Learns complex systems and applies creative problem solving for robust solutions.
• Develops technical documentation and presents findings to teams and customers.
