Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Propulsion R&D Engineer (SME) to lead solid rocket motor (SRM) technologies. Remote option available; role may be remote or based in Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR.

You will conduct feasibility studies, design, development and testing of propulsion concepts, provide technical leadership across SRM programs, and guide technology transition from development into production.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 12-15 years' experience.
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design and development activities for new or improved products, processes, or services.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners and designers to optimize manufacturability.
• Use CAD/CAE systems to model designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Conduct market research, track projects and prepare business-oriented analyses.
• Learn complex systems and apply creative problem solving to develop robust solutions.
• Develop technical documentation for projects and communicate findings clearly.
