Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Senior R&D Electrical Engineer for the Fire Suppression Electronics team at our Cranston, RI facility. You will develop automated fire detection and control systems for heavy-duty mining vehicles and commercial kitchens, with ownership from road-mapping to launch.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years PCB/hardware design, and experience in system-level design and regulatory testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent four-year degree.
• 5+ years of PCB/electronic hardware design and development experience.
• System level design and/or analysis experience.
• Design verification and regulatory testing.
• US Citizens and/or Permanent Residents of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire detection and control systems for vehicles with wireless connectivity.
• Develop control systems for high-end restaurants, casinos, arenas, and food courts with cloud connectivity.
• Design PCB Assemblies and embedded firmware for these assemblies.
• Collaborate globally with mechanical engineers, firmware developers, product management, and manufacturing operations.
• Work with external suppliers, approval agencies, and design partners.
