Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer for our Cranston, RI R&D facility. You will set up sensors and data acquisition, develop LabVIEW test control programs, and wire automation hardware such as PLCs and VFDs to support safety-focused fire protection research.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition hardware.
Knowledge of LabVIEW, PLC programming, and VFD programming.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting across electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities

Set up, configure, and maintain sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for fire protection R&D testing.
Develop and modify LabVIEW programs for data collection and test control.
Build, wire, and troubleshoot automation hardware including PLCs and VFDs.
Diagnose and resolve wiring, communications, control logic, and instrumentation issues.
