Job summary

Johnson Controls in Cranston, RI seeks an Instrumentation Engineer to support experimental development by setting up sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. You will work with project engineers to ensure safe, accurate test operation and maintain documentation across wiring diagrams and configurations.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with instrumentation, LabVIEW, PLC/VFD programming, and the ability to interpret schematics.

Qualifications

• Required degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering.
• Hands-on instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition hardware experience.
• Working knowledge of LabVIEW, PLC programming, and VFD programming.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for tests.
• Develop, modify, and maintain LabVIEW programs for data collection and control.
• Build, wire, and troubleshoot automation hardware including PLCs and VFDs.
• Diagnose wiring, communication, and control issues; maintain diagrams and records.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable test operations.
