Job summary

D-Wave Quantum Inc. in Florida is seeking a Staff Technical Account Manager - Research to lead technical engagements with research clients and drive successful adoption of our quantum computing platform.

You will work cross-functionally with sales, product, and R&D to ensure customer needs are met and value is delivered. In this client-facing role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, translating our roadmap to researchers and presenting complex concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years combined experience in a technical customer-facing role in enterprise software or research settings.
• 2+ years hands-on Python programming in an enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting clients in research, logistics, manufacturing, pharma, fintech or education.
• Strong foundation in optimization, algorithms, or applied mathematics.
• Familiarity with GitHub and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical engagements with research clients to identify use cases and adoption opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, product, services and R&D to ensure customer needs are met.
• Translate D-Wave's vision and roadmap to researchers and technical stakeholders.
• Advocate for client requirements with internal teams and drive value delivery.
• Present complex technical concepts clearly across diverse audiences.
• Deliver technical presentations at conferences, webinars, and seminars.
• Support marketing by hosting webinars and representing the company at events.
• Build long-term technical relationships across project lifecycles.
• Identify and recommend new projects leveraging D-Wave solutions.
• Serve as a technical resource on quantum computing and industry trends.
• Expect 30–50% travel to conferences, client meetings, training, and sales events.
